IBPS SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
AFNAFPO hosts and maintains the system in San Antonio, TX. This system is directly connected to the Internet and has no connection to any base infrastructure (NIPRNet). Software installation or maintenance is not required at MAJCOM or installation levels.

Users will be required to have connectivity to the Internet and have an Internet Browser (see IBPS Hardware and Browser Requirements). The Base LAN connection is used to access IBPS through the base Firewall. Users that do not have a Base LAN connection will need to contract with a commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP) for Internet access.

  Hard Drive: 100 Meg Available or higher
  CD-ROM: Recommended
  Internet Access: T-1 Equivalent (1.5Mbps)
   
Required:  
  Operating System: Windows 95*1, Windows 98*1, or Windows NT 4.0*2
   
Internet Browsers:
  Internet Explorer 5 on Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6
  Internet Explorer 5.x on Windows 95/98/2k using an update to IE 5 (e.g. 5.x)
 

*1 All updates and security patches should be installed.
*2 Service Packs 3, 4, 5, and 6 should be installed.

Notes:
1. All Service Packs and Operating System Updates can be provided by AFNAFPO.
2. Internet Browser and their updates can be provided by AFNAFPO.
3. FIPS 140-1 Compliance is used for encryption of information over the Internet from the AFNAFPO and IBPS Web sites.
